I'm Al-Barr Ajiboye, a third-year computing student at Queen’s University pursuing a minor in economics, driven by my passions for entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence. My time is often devoted to project work, hackathons, pitch competitions, and networking events on campus. I see Hyve as a platform where student creatives can shine, offering services and gaining exposure, while helping others in Kingston access these services. Given the predominantly white demographics of Kingston and Queen’s, POC often struggle to find these essential services. I’ve personally experienced this challenge, notably when searching for a convenient and affordable barber specializing in type 4 hair. Hyve represents not only an opportunity for creatives but a means to address a pressing diversity issue, fostering inclusivity in our community. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
